About Us

Matale International School is an Exclusive English Medium school located in the heart of Matale.

It commenced its services on 10th January 2002 at 70, Hulangamuwa Rd, Matale with 10 students mainly as an International Nursery school. Today it has grown to more than 1200 students studying from Play Group to G.C.E (Ordinary Level)s.

According to the Government Policies on education, MIS provides an opportunity for children to study the National Curriculum in English.

MIS nurtures children to face the challenges of the real world by providing an extensive and quality education in a stress-free environment.

Our student community is multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multi-cultural. They participate in all religions and cultural activities without any difference or discrimination.

We, at MIS strongly believe that each child is unique and capable of achieving their goals. Therefore, we support them by providing a rich educational background enriched with physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development.

For this MIS exposes its student to extra-curriculum activities such as sports,  Dancing, Music, Clubs, and Societies.

Above activities include 

Cricket, Netball, Athletics, Karate, Swimming, Football, Tennis, Table-tennis, Badminton, Chess, Scouting, Girl-guides, Little Friends, Cub-scouts, environment, Drama, Music, Literary clubs, and Societies.

Currently, MIS employs more than 100 staff members in teaching, administration, building, maintenance, transport, and cleaning. Our Teaching staff is highly trained and qualified and clearly understands the art of teaching, curriculum planning, and classroom management. We provide in-house training to enable them to develop their skills in line with the latest teaching strategies followed world-wide
